Monday was sure a contrast to Sunday. Though it was great to see the needed rain, I much more enjoyed the sunny Monday. Thanks to lots of high pressure we will get much more sun this week, though we start a little mild until we hit the last part of the week. We didn’t see any real storm activity here on Monday, but did some of you see the lightning to our south last night? Believe it or not, that storm was about 75-100 miles away from Nelson on the NC border.

In the radar shot below (I have it showing cloud tops, that big cell to the way SE of Lynchburg was about 50,000 feet tall. That’s why we were able to see the lightning so well.
Radar 6.4.07 PM

On the current surface map below, a cold front is working across our area bringing in cooler drier air.

Below, on the National Forecast Map, with the front moving through, look for pleasant temps and no rain.
