Good Monday to everyone,

What a near perfect weekend. We had some showers around the area Saturday, but Sunday cleared out and became sunny. Sunday evening Yvette and I ate on the deck at D’Ambola’s Restaurant on 151 in Afton. It was perfect weather to sit outside!

Lots went on this weekend so be sure to scroll down past the weather when you are done here and read on. We’ll be adding more later today as well.

Monday’s Forecast Map
Monday’s Forecast Map
After a cool night last night we recover nicely today. We reached amorning low of 35.2 degrees here @ NCL-Nelson County Life Magazine around 6:30 AM Monday morning. In Lovingston @ NCL-TIger Fuel they reached a morning low of 38.5 just before 6 AM. High pressue is anchored right over Virginia today. It slowly drifts east over the next 24 hours. That means sunny skies and highs making it to the low and mid 70’s in the valley at places like Nellysford, Beech Grove, Lovingston, and Shipman. On the mountains at Wintergreen, Crab Tree Falls, and the Blue Ridge Parkway, look for sunny skies and temps in the mid 60’s with light NE winds. Lows Monday will fall into the low 50’s valley and inverted to the mid and perhaps upper 50’s mountains due to increasing SW winds overnight.

Tuesday will be much warmer with sunny skies and temps in the mid and upper 80’s valley and mid 70’s mountains. It will be breezy with winds from 10-20 MPH from the SW. Those SW winds will bring in moisture that sets up up for the next rain and thunderstorms mid-week. A cold front over the North Central US makes it to us by mid-week.

After the rain leaves us sometime Thursday early, sunny skies return with cooler temps. Right now next weekend looks great…so far. Remember that’s many days out!

Have a great Monday and spend as much time as you can outdoors, it’s be wonderful day.
